Shade Plants In their Natural Environment.
Our nursery is situated in the East Sussex countryside, near Pevensey within 17 acres of quiet
native woodland. From our nursery we grow a range of shade loving plants, suitable for
a border or courtyard back garden.
Since setting up the nursery in 2012 we have grown thousands of shade loving plants, for dry and
damp locations with the aim of increasing the range of plants available for British gardens by
bringing together unusual hardy perennials from temperate regions around the world. Through our
experience of cultivating shade tolerant plants we have selected only hardy, garden worthy plants
that will provide interest through all seasons.
We take pride in growing all our hardy perennials at our Sussex nursery. We only sell fully hardy plants, tried and tested in our outdoor shade houses. We don’t believe in selling plugs (young plants) We establish the plants, so when they arrive to your doorstep, they are at a healthy size.
We are trying to use less peat as possible. Our main aim for the future is to move completely away from peat. We try to produce our plants as much as possible from root cuttings and seeds
We have made life easier by selecting rare and interesting shade loving plants, that are a little more imaginative than what your usual garden centre offers. By having a mail order shop, you can select the plants, go through a fuss free transaction and they will arrive to your doorstep, ready to plant in your garden.
At fairs we get the opportunity to meet customers and to advise them on their shade garden. I also have a blog which has lots of information on shade related topics. If you have a particular question, feel free to contact me.
